Dani Olmo wants to finish his elite football career at GNK Dinamo Zagreb and begin his coaching journey there. His agent Andy Bara confirmed these plans, emphasising the Spanish international's deep connection to the club where he developed.

Olmo, now at FC Barcelona, still wears a Dinamo number 7 shirt at home in Spain. "Dani still walks around the house wearing a Dinamo shirt with the number 7 and his name on it, even now in Barcelona," Bara said. The agent added that Olmo's dream is to return to Maksimir and sit on the bench. "He wants to finish his career at Dinamo and hopes that will be the case, even as a manager; he’d like to start his managerial career at Dinamo," Bara stated.

This revelation comes as Dinamo, under Sergej Jakirović, leads the HNL with 16 points from seven matches. The team recently secured an important 3-2 win over Lokomotiva, with the next challenge being a major derby away to second-placed Hajduk Split on 10 October.

Bara also recalled key career decisions, noting the player turned down Bayern Munich twice. First while still at Dinamo, and again during his time at RB Leipzig, when he chose Barcelona instead. The agent was key in convincing a young Olmo to move to Zagreb in 2014, describing the city as safe and the club as a place where he would receive support.

It was also revealed that Olmo has for years donated 2% of his gross annual salary to the city of Vukovar, an initiative he started at Leipzig and continued at Barcelona. Though he has never spoken publicly about it, this gesture speaks to his bond with Croatia.

At 27, Olmo has achieved a successful career, winning the European Championship, Nations League and World Cup with Spain. His desire to return to Dinamo adds a new dimension to future transfer narratives and strengthens the emotional tie between fans and one of their favourite former players.
