Josip Šutalo (26) is moving to Lazio on a loan until the end of the season, for which the Roman club will pay three million euros. Lazio has the option to buy him out for an additional 7.5 million euros, with Dinamo earning around 119,000 euros from the loan. Ajax has secured 10% of any future transfer if the buyout clause is activated. Dinamo will already profit from Šutalo's departure from Amsterdam, as he spent the majority of his career at the club.
Dinamo is entitled to 3.97% of the transfer fee under FIFA's solidarity mechanism. Clubs that participated in a player's development between their 12th and 23rd birthdays receive 0.25% for the first full year of registration and 0.5% from 16 to 23 years old. Šutalo spent nine years at Dinamo, granting him a 3.97% share of the total fee.
If Lazio buys out Šutalo for 7.5 million euros, Dinamo could receive an additional 298,000 euros. In total, the club would earn around 417,000 euros from fixed amounts. Additionally, Dinamo could receive 3.97% of any bonuses Lazio pays to Ajax. The exact amount is determined by Šutalo's FIFA registration records and registration dates.
Šutalo joined Dinamo in 2014 as a 14-year-old from Neretva. He progressed through the youth academy, second team, and senior squad. In spring 2021, he was on loan to Istri 1961, meaning part of the solidarity contribution for that year goes to Istri. He moved to Ajax in 2023, and now Dinamo will financially benefit from his transfer due to his years at the club's academy and first team.
