GNK Dinamo Zagreb Advances in UEFA Champions League

GNK Dinamo Zagreb has successfully advanced to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, but their team was soft and apathetic in the second qualifying round against Thun. On the first half of the match, things seemed hopeless, but the Blues were able to win in the second half.

Dinamo's management is late

Although the guillotine for coach Marijo Kovačević was already ready on the first half, the problem must be addressed at a higher level. The second goal, which led Dinamo to the abyss, was a heavy kick by Ivan Filipović.

Everything went wrong

A lot went wrong in this match. Thun scored the first goal after Josip Mišić passed the ball in the red zone. It was a great action, but the Swiss took the lead from the first shot. For the next 15 minutes, we didn't see their dominance as much as Dinamo's powerlessness, and then they scored again.

Mismanaged profile

All this can be taken into account when evaluating the team and Marijo Kovačević, but at least two tactical decisions are difficult to explain. The first was the decision to give Vidović priority on the eighth position over Kačavenda.

Current club status

GNK Dinamo Zagreb currently leads the HNL with a 9-point advantage over Hajduk. In the season, they have scored 79 goals and conceded 23, resulting in a +56 goal difference. In the first part of the season, they played 29 matches, winning 22, drawing 3, and losing 4.
