Dinamo aims to keep Livaković permanently, but Istanbul decides

GNK Dinamo Zagreb announced it is ready to offer a five‑year contract to Dominik Livaković, yet the final decision rests with Fenerbahçe. The Maksimir club wants to avoid long‑term financial strain, while the goalkeeper has been on loan since January 2026.

What is Dinamo's offer?

According to Sportske novosti, Dinamo plans a base salary of €750,000 per year, plus performance‑related bonuses. With additional club mechanisms, total earnings could reach around €1 million annually. That would make Livaković one of the highest‑paid players at the club, though still below his Turkish earnings.

Why is Fenerbahçe the key?

Fenerbahçe holds Livaković's contract until 30 June 2028, giving them strong bargaining power. Dinamo does not want to pay a high transfer fee, so it seeks a model where the Turkish side accepts a lower sum or shares the player's obligations. Without an agreement, Dinamo cannot complete the transfer on its own.

How does this affect Dinamo in the HNL?

Dinamo currently leads the HNL in 1st place with 86 points, 27 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses from 36 games, and the last five results are DWWWW. With 93 goals scored and 28 conceded, a +65 goal difference puts them 18 points ahead of HNK Hajduk Split. Keeping Livaković could further solidify the defence and ensure stability in crucial matches.

What comes next?

Negotiations between Dinamo and Fenerbahçe continue in Istanbul. If an agreement is reached, Livaković will sign a five‑year deal and keep playing under coach Mario Kovačević. Otherwise, the club will have to explore other goalkeeper options, which could impact their dominance in the domestic league.
