GNK Dinamo Zagreb has loaned young striker Lovre Kulušić to Lokomotiva. The 19-year-old will spend the remainder of the season with the Zagreb-based club.
Dinamo currently sits second in the HNL with 13 points from five matches. The team has a positive goal difference of +9, having scored 12 and conceded just 3 goals. Their next challenge is an away fixture against NK Osijek on September 12, 2026.
Lovre Kulušić was born in Šibenik on February 15, 2006. He stands 193 cm tall and plays as a forward, though he can also operate behind the striker or on the wing. He made his senior debut for Šibenik at just 16 years of age. For Šibenik's first team, he played a total of 29 matches, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
Dinamo acquired him in the summer of 2025 for a fee of approximately 250,000 euros, plus a percentage of a future transfer fee. Although a product of Šibenik's youth academy, Kulušić is also considered a player who has come through Dinamo's youth structure after his arrival. Dinamo B coach Jerko Leko specifically thanked the player. "I would especially like to thank Kulušić for everything." Leko said.
This is not the first loan spell for the young striker in his short career. Before moving to Lokomotiva, Kulušić had already been on loan at other clubs. He played for Bravo and later for Vukovar. For Vukovar, he made seven appearances in the HNL, starting four of those matches.
His last appearance for Dinamo B was in a 1-0 win against Kustošija. Kulušić has also represented Croatian youth national teams at various levels. Dinamo's complete match schedule can be followed on the fixtures page.
The loan to Lokomotiva will allow Kulušić to continue his development in the top flight, but in an environment that offers more minutes on the pitch. For Dinamo, this is part of a strategy to develop young players by gaining experience in a more competitive setting than the second league. The current success of the first team, with four wins and one draw in the first five rounds, creates room for such moves.
The team has solid scoring efficiency, and more detailed statistics can be found on the stats page. This loan also shows the club's confidence in its own youth work and the desire to maximize the value of talents like Kulušić. Lokomotiva is known for its good work with young players, which is likely one of the key reasons for choosing that particular club.
Lokomotiva will get a young, physically imposing striker who already has HNL experience. His height of 193 cm makes him dangerous in aerial duels, and his ability to play multiple positions in attack gives the manager flexibility. For Lokomotiva, which also competes in the HNL, acquiring a young player with potential can be a useful move for both sides.
For Kulušić, this is an opportunity to show his qualities at a club that regularly gives chances to youngsters. His contract with Dinamo remains valid, and the club will closely monitor his progress over the coming months. The full squad list for Dinamo can always be checked on the squad page. Lovre Kulušić is likely to make his Lokomotiva debut in the next round of HNL matches.
