Dinamo Zagreb has topped the HNL and has a game in hand. Following Osijek’s defeat at Hajduk’s home ground, Dinamo has risen to the top of the table.
Rijeka and Dinamo did not play the second‑round fixture at Rujevica in the scheduled slot because they could not find a suitable date amid their European campaigns, and they will not play in the first free slot next week either. They will look for another solution later in the season. Nevertheless, the “blues” are still ahead even without that match.
A super‑calculator based on 10,000 Elo simulations found that after this round Dinamo has an 80 % chance of defending the title, two percentage points higher than before the win over Varaždin. Hajduk Split has an 8 % chance (1 % higher than before), and Rijeka remains unchanged at 6 %. Varaždin has a 4 % chance, and Osijek 2 %. The only club with zero points is Gorica, which has not managed to take any from Osijek, Lokomotiva, Hajduk or Slaven Belupo.
