Dinamo Zagreb has sold out three stands for their match against Viking in the Champions League play-off. Fans can buy tickets for 12 euros. The match will be played on Tuesday, August 18, at 21:00. Dinamo and Viking will play the first leg of the play-off, while the return leg is scheduled for August 26 in Stavanger. The winner of the tie will qualify for the Champions League group stage, while the loser will play in the Europa League group stage.
Dinamo's team, led by coach Marijan Kovačević, has reached the play-off stage convincingly. They defeated Kauno Žalgiris 5-0 at home and 2-1 away, winning the tie 7-1. Viking, the current Norwegian champions, arrive in Zagreb after a 2-1 defeat to Rosenborg, who scored the winning goal in the 95th minute. After 17 rounds of the Norwegian league, Viking is second with 40 points, one less than leader Bodo/Glimta.
The match will also have a humanitarian dimension. Dinamo and the club's charity, Nema predaje, have announced that they will donate a portion of the revenue from the match to help people affected by the recent wildfires in Croatia. The club has not specified how much of the revenue will be donated.
The interest of the fans has led to the fact that only the Sjever gore stand is still available for purchase. Maksimir would thus be very well attended for one of the most important Dinamo matches of the season.
