Dion Drena Beljo decided the derby against Lokomotiva with two goals in Dinamo Zagreb's 3-2 victory in the eighth round of the HNL. The double scorer moved the team up to fourth place in the league with 13 points, just three behind leaders Hajduk Split.

Dinamo opened the scoring early on Saturday evening at Maksimir. Niko Galešić headed the ball into the net from a Stjepan Radeljić cross in the 11th minute. Beljo scored his first goal in the 26th minute, assisted by Paul Bismarck Tabinas. Lokomotiva responded immediately, with Dušan Vuković pulling one back in the 28th minute.

Beljo seals the win

After halftime, Beljo restored the two-goal cushion for the hosts with his second strike in the 58th minute, set up by Luka Stojković. Lokomotiva reduced the deficit again in the 75th minute through Leon Belcar, but Dinamo managed to hold on to their lead until the final whistle. Beljo increased his season tally to seven goals in five appearances with the brace.

Josip Mišić was sent off for Dinamo in the 69th minute, and Dario Reić for Lokomotiva in the 88th minute. Dinamo enjoyed 58% possession and registered 19 shots.

The win ends a run of one defeat and one draw in the league for Dinamo, who can now focus on the trip to Split. Their next league challenge is against table-toppers Hajduk on October 10.

Dinamo have recorded three wins, one draw, and one loss in their last five matches. Alongside Beljo, Luka Ivanušec carried a significant part of the attacking load, while goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski made three saves. The team showed character in the closing stages to preserve their lead and secure the three points.
