GNK Dinamo Zagreb secured a 2:1 victory against Kauno Žalgiris in the second leg of the Champions League 3rd qualifying round, formally confirming their place in the play-off. Dion Drena Beljo scored the first goal while Josip Mišić added another.
The game started with Dinamo's quick and efficient attack where Beljo opened the scoring in the 19th minute through a 'tiki-taka' move with three passes. Mišić added his goal in the 30th minute after intercepting a loose ball on his own half.
After taking the lead, Kauno Žalgiris had an opportunity to attack but their effort in the 25th minute did not result in a goal. Filipović and Burba both committed fouls leading Dinamo down to ten men for over an hour.
Despite being down to ten players for almost an hour, Dinamo managed to see out the game successfully. Debeljuh scored in the 56th minute after a scramble in Dinamo's penalty area.
Dinamo will now face Norwegian side Viking in the play-off where the first match is scheduled for August 18 at 9 PM in Zagreb.
