GNK Dinamo Zagreb confirmed serious injuries to two young players, Patrik Horvat and Ivan Jurčić. Both players were injured during the Mladen Ramljak Memorial Tournament.
Patrik Horvat, an 18-year-old player who made his debut for the senior team last season, was injured in the final of the tournament against Ajax. At the start of the second half, he twisted his knee near the corner flag and remained lying on the pitch in pain. He was carried off the field.
Ivan Jurčić, also 18 years old, was injured on the first day of the tournament, in a match against Juventus. In the 72nd minute, he awkwardly fell while receiving the ball, immediately grabbed his right knee and had to leave the field.
GNK Dinamo Zagreb will have to wait for operations and a long recovery period for both players. "Unfortunately, both players suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and will have to miss a longer period of time. Both players are expected to undergo surgery, followed by a rehabilitation process and a return to the pitch," GNK Dinamo Zagreb announced.
