GNK Dinamo Zagreb has rejected a substantial offer for striker Dion Drena Beljo, with coach Mario Kovačević announcing a squad clear-out. Index.hr Sport reported these developments on Tuesday, September 5, 2026, just days before the Croatian transfer window closes on September 7.

The club currently sits third in the HNL with 10 points from four games, recording three wins and one draw. Dinamo has scored 11 goals, conceded only three, and holds a positive goal difference of eight. Leaders NK Osijek are two points ahead, and Dinamo faces them next in an important top-of-the-table clash.

Reports indicate the offer for Dion Drena Beljo was significant but was turned down. Zvonimir Boban, the club's president, articulated the board's stance. "When a club has such a stance that it is not ready to let go of a key player for such an offer, that says enough about how much the club values the player and how important he is," said Boban. The player's agent, Srđan Lakić, is also involved in the process.

Several other movements are happening at Maksimir. Marko Zebić, a 19-year-old prospect, has been loaned to Rudeš until the end of the season. Last season he made five appearances for the first team, and this season he played all three matches for Dinamo II. He has a contract until summer 2028. Dinamo is also reportedly interested in 19-year-old defender Ivan Kolarik. Additionally, Spanish defender Sergi Dominguez rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia during the summer, and the club did not want to sell the player before Champions League qualification was completed.

Dinamo is close to securing midfielder Iker Almena. The 22-year-old is set to undergo a medical before signing. He previously earned approximately 400,000 euros annually at Hajduk Split and will have similar financial terms at Dinamo. This reinforcement should strengthen the midfield for the demanding fixtures ahead. The current roster and potential changes can be tracked on the squad page.

The transfer market is also active at other Croatian clubs. Lokomotiva has signed Marijan Čabraja. Ivan Šaranić left Istra 1961, where he arrived in June and made five appearances with two assists, to sign for Turkish side Bursaspor. NK Osijek sold Roko Jurišić and Nail Omerović to Portugal's Estoril for around two million euros. Osijek's sporting director Kenneth Zandvliet commented on other negotiations, stating, "I'm a tough negotiator. We won't let him go just like that." Osijek also expects about 600,000 euros from the sale of Arnela Jakupović to Vitória Guimarães. Jakupović made 67 appearances and scored 16 goals in two years at Osijek.

Rijeka parted ways with Dimitri Legbo after less than eight months. The 25-year-old Ivorian winger joined the club at the end of January as a free agent. He played 16 matches and scored one goal. He had a contract until 2028 with an option for an additional year, and his transfer value is estimated at 500,000 euros. Oliver Zelenika, a 33-year-old Croatian goalkeeper, left Varaždin after six years and 157 appearances to sign a one-year deal with APOEL. GNK Dinamo Zagreb's next league test is on Saturday, September 12, 2026, against league leaders NK Osijek.
