Dinamo nets €2 million for Marko Soldo transfer

GNK Dinamo Zagreb confirmed on July 11, 2026 that it has sold midfielder Marko Soldo to Czech top‑flight side SK Sigma Olomouc for €2 million. The club thanked the player on social media and wished him luck in his new challenge.

What triggered the move?

Soldo arrived at Dinamo in the summer of 2022 from Osijek but made only one appearance in his first season. After loan spells at Šibenik and Gorica, the club sold him to Osijek in 2023 for €400 000. At Dinamo he logged 34 appearances, three goals and one assist. His 2024/25 stats for Osijek – 43 games, eight goals and four assists – attracted the Czech side.

Why does the departure matter for Dinamo?

The transfer frees up a salary for a player who was not a regular starter, and the €2 million fee lets Dinamo reinforce its squad. With Dinamo currently leading the HNL in 1st place with 86 points, 27 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses, the club can invest in attackers or defenders to protect an 18‑point lead over HNK Hajduk Split.

What does Soldo expect at Olomouc?

In his first interview with a Czech outlet, Soldo said he is impressed by the stadium and the club’s ambitions. “I want to help Sigma Olomouc win at least one trophy,” he stated. He emphasized that he will give his all, whether through goals, assists or work in midfield.

How will Dinamo cope without him?

Although Soldo was a squad player, his exit opens a spot for younger talents from Dinamo’s academy. Coach Damir Krstičević announced a focus on youth development and possibly bringing in a new creative midfielder. Given Dinamo’s current form – 93 goals scored, 28 conceded, +65 goal difference – the team has enough offensive firepower to offset the loss.

Where does Dinamo stand now?

After 36 league matches Dinamo sits atop the table with 86 points, 27 wins, 5 draws and 4 defeats, and the last five games have all been victories (DWWWW). This shows the club maintains momentum despite Soldo’s departure. With fresh funds and emerging players, Dinamo continues to chase the title and European competition spots.
