Dinamo sells Marko Soldo to Sigma Olomouc
GNK Dinamo Zagreb has confirmed that 22‑year‑old Marko Soldo has left the club and signed for SK Sigma Olomouc, a transfer worth around two million euros. Soldo recorded 33 appearances, 1,124 minutes, three goals and one assist for Dinamo last season, and the club held a buy‑out clause of one million euros which it exercised.
What triggered the sale?
Soldo arrived from Osijek in 2025 and spent seasons on loan at Šibenik and Gorica before being sold to Osijek in 2024 for €400,000. His impressive 2024/25 season for Osijek (43 games, 8 goals, 4 assists) prompted Dinamo to bring him back and include a sell‑on clause. After becoming a regular starter in the spring part of the 2025/26 season, the club decided to activate the clause and secure a profit.
Why is Sigma Olomouc interested?
Coach Pavel Hapal highlighted Soldo as a quality player capable of covering multiple midfield roles and boosting the squad’s level. Board chairman Ondřej Navrátil stressed the long‑standing interest in a talent from Dinamo’s academy and believes Soldo will be an immediate reinforcement. Soldo told the club he is excited about the new challenge and wants to help Sigma win a trophy.
How does this affect Dinamo?
Dinamo currently leads the HNL with 86 points, 27 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses from 36 games, sitting 18 points ahead of second‑placed HNK Hajduk Split. Losing Soldo should not jeopardise the dominance, as the team still boasts a deep roster and controls an attack that has scored 93 goals while conceding 28, a +65 goal difference.
What’s next for the club?
Soldo signed a multi‑year contract, and Sigma Olomouc recently captured the Czech Cup in 2025 and the Supercup in 2011, aiming to continue its success. Dinamo will likely seek a replacement from its academy or the market, with Soldo’s market value listed at €1.5 million by Transfermarkt. The transfer fee is expected to be reinvested in young prospects and possibly strengthen the midfield.
Where will Soldo play?
Sigma Olomouc plays at a 12,000‑seat stadium in the city of Olomouc, a mid‑table Czech First League side last season. The club finished mid‑table but aims to return to the top. Soldo will have the chance to feature in European competitions if Sigma secures qualification.
What do the fans say?
Dinamo’s supporters thanked Soldo on social media: "Marko, thank you for everything you gave our club and good luck in the new challenge!" Sigma Olomouc posted a welcome message with a photo of the player in his new kit, and fans of both clubs look forward to exciting matches in the coming months.
